Trek’s New Electric Bike Lineup Looks Beautiful

You already know Trek from their line of high-performance mountain bikes. They are a major brand in the space, making some of the best electric bikes, but now the company is targeting urban commuters with its new lineup of powerful, sleek and fast electric city bikes.

The new Allant+ is comprised of 10 different electric bikes, which range in price from $3,600 to $6,000. Yeah, they are pricey but you are getting the creme de la creme of e-bike performance. They do more than just look pretty.


Trek Electric Bikes Are Looking Good

To start, every model is powered by a Bosch motor that is lighter than average and offers less resistance than previous generations. This means a more natural riding feel. In fact, they use two Bosch motors. The models that sport Bosch’s Performance Line CX motors deliver a boost of up to 20 mph, while models with the faster Performance Line Speed motors deliver an assist of up to 28 mph. All are pedal-assisted mid-drive motors for better balance.

To give you some idea of what to expect from these bikes, the folks at The Verge recently tested the $5,999 Allant+ 9.9S. They found that the battery is completely built-in into the frame, which helps to give it a streamlined look. The shape of the frame is also very attractive. But beyond the good looks and aesthetic design, it’s also packing a lot of power.
